Pool Heating Sydney

Solar Heating

There are various methods available to heat your pool, but the most energy-efficient and cost-effective way, is to use ‘Solar Pool Heating’. We provide Solar Pool Heating clients can trust.

This process uses the suns energy to warm your pool. A solar heating pump draws water from your pool and pumps it to your roof. The water circulates through solar heated collectors on your roof, and returns the warm water back into your pool.

Your ideal water temperature is set using a fully automated digital solar control, so you can ‘set and forget’ and jump into your perfectly heated pool at your leisure.

How Solar Controls Work

With a digital control, you can set the pool temperature to your personal requirements. Having two sensors installed (a pool sensor and a roof sensor), the controller turns on the solar pump when the temperature difference between the roof sensor and pool sensor is greater than 7˚c. The pump will then continue to run until the pool reaches your desired temperature, or until the temperature drops to below the 7˚c difference required between the roof and the pool sensors.

Here’s what you should consider when choosing a solar heating system:

  • Swimming pool size
  • Roof orientation
  • Pool and roof colour
  • Amount of shade
  • Your desired swimming season

Gas Heaters

Gas Heating is by far, the quickest way to heat your swimming pool to a comfortable swimming temperature all year round. It can provide on-demand heating, which means your pool will be at the perfect temperature when you want it, regardless of the weather conditions.

You can also incorporate a Gas Heater with your solar heating system as a heating booster, or to use on those cooler or rainy days where solar heating may not be as effective. Gas heating is perfect for one-off days you’d like your pool or spa at optimum temperature – such as parties or school holidays.

When you’re choosing a gas heater for your pool, you should consider these factors:

  • Swimming pool size
  • Maximum temperature
  • Heating time
  • Your swimming season

Installing a Pool Blanket is highly recommended when installing a Gas Heater, to save on energy, heat loss and money.

How Gas Heaters work

Your pool pump circulates the pools water from the pool which then passes through your filter and into the heater. The heater’s combustion chamber ignites the gas, heating copper tubes arranged above the burner tray. As the water passes through, the heat from these copper tubes is conducted to the water, increasing the water temperature. The water then returns to the pool and recirculates for consistent heating. The process is simple and the result is a fast, controlled heat. Set your temperature properly and you can warm your pool without burning your budget.

Heat Pumps

If solar heating is not suitable for your needs or gas heating may not be an option, an electric heat pump is the solution to having the best performing, quietest and cost effective swimming pool heater allowing you to swim all the seasons of the year.

Heat pumps maintain a more consistent temperature throughout all the different seasons of the year and is a cost effective alternative to gas heating, and because a heat pump does not need sunshine to work (as solar heating requires) it can allow the customer to position the heat pump in a position that can be out of direct sight.

You can also incorporate a heat pump with your solar heating system as a heating booster, or to use on those cooler or rainy days where the solar heating may not be as effective.

When choosing a heat pump, you should consider the following factors:

  • Geographic location and climate
  • Maximum temperature
  • Swimming pool size
  • Indoor/outdoor location
  • Your swimming season

Installing a Pool Blanket is highly recommended when installing a heat pump, to save on energy, heat loss and money.

How Heat Pumps Work
